In the last few years we’ve seen food trucks become simple fun alternatives to your typical brick and mortar restaurants.
As they continue to increase in popularity, many have started including more services, specifically for catering. In Fact, food trucks are continuing to make their way into the catering world as many brides, bachelors and party goers require a unique experience at their events.
One area where food truck catering has seen the most growth is at weddings. Along with being an inexpensive option to feed the masses, food trucks also provide a relaxed and cool setting. In addition, food trucks offer a flexible eating schedule. For instance, if you have a food truck cater your event for a specific amount of time, your guests can feel welcome to eat throughout the night. This can be especially useful after being on the dance floor for a few hours. No matter what the occasion, food trucks offer a variety of cuisine, most differing from the typical buffet services you’ll find at most events. In addition, many food trucks utilize local vendors which support the local food community.
For food truck owners, catering is a great way to expand their brand. The more events they attend, the more opportunities they create to get their name out there. As a caterer, food trucks also have the chance to reach a wider demographic. They are going to the people as opposed to only catering to customers that seek them out. By offering catering services, food trucks can create a different atmosphere no matter what the event.
Expanding into the catering world is beneficial both for food trucks and their followers. As we see a demand for these mobile catering services, food trucks have an option to get their name out there. Whether it is for wedding, corporate get-togethers, birthday parties or any other celebration, food trucks have become a unique, flexible and fun alternative for any event. If you are unsure if your favorite food truck caters, don’t be afraid to request this service. Who knows, maybe they will start with your event!

You make it sound so easy to find a food truck to come and cater because all you have to do is ask. My fiance and I are getting married, and we met at a food truck roundup. So, I was thinking that for our reception we’d try to recreate that with at least one of them. I’ll just have to find a food truck or two near me who’ll come and cater.
