Summer is nearing it’s end but that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy all the season’s benefits. That being said, there is definitely no shortage of summer treats in Austin.
With the abundance of food trucks, it’s easy for everyone to find the perfect snack after a long day in the Texas heat. Here are a few of our favorite summer treats around the city:
Frozen Bananas from Bananarchy
There’s always money in the banana stand. Bananarchy serves delicious frozen bananas with your choice of dips and toppings. You can choose from one of their specialty recipes (like the Cookie Crumble which includes a mix of Oreos and chocolate chip cookies) or mix and match your own flavors. Bananas come in half sizes or whole, unless you want The GOB (Pronounced Jobe for any non-Arrested Development fans) which comes with two whole bananas.

Ice Cream from The Science Cream
At this unique food truck, you get more than just ice cream, you get entertainment. The Science Cream is the first ice cream shop in Austin that uses liquid nitrogen to create their desserts. You can find a variety of flavors that all use high quality ingredients. In addition to your typical ice cream flavors, they also offer Seasonal and non-dairy ice creams.

Holla Mode
This fun food truck brings the taste of Thailand to Austin! Holla Mode uses the traditional Thai method of pouring liquid cream onto a frozen surface. Then the ice cream is scraped and rolled into thin layers and topped with ingredients of your choice.
Sno Cones from South Austin Sno
This family owned food truck serves up a summer classic. The humble, sweet sno cone is sure to make anyone feel refreshed. South Austin Sno offers a variety of crazy flavors and toppings in addition to providing a laid-back and fun atmosphere.

Churros from Churro Co.
Although it’s not a cold treat, churros from this authentic food truck will make you feel like you’re at a County Fair. As they say, you can have churros for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Add traditional toppings like nutella and whipped cream or try one of their specialty churros topped with popcorn sugar or honey granola.
